Direct from Brooklyn NY, Face The Music and Melbourne Music Week present Vice Music’s GM, Jamie Farkas in a keynote address. In a time of unprecedented access to music, Farkas will focus on what it means to be a truly global artist. Farkas joined VICE in 2003 at the launch of the VICE records label with the release of The Streets’ critically acclaimed debut album ‘Original Pirate Material’. Farkas has been instrumental in creating of a multi faceted, international music department encompassing label, supervision, endorsement, bookings and sponsorship. Vice Music has partnered with artists Justice, Action Bronson, Snoop Lion, Black Lips, The Raveonettes, OFF! and Death From Above 1979.

Highlights of this year also include ‘Discovery’ – a look at the technology that connects millions of songs and users in the digital world. Part presentation, part Q&A, the session presented by Spotify’s Rene Chambers will equip bands, managers, publicists and labels with the knowhow to make use of the marketing opportunities and powerful information available through streaming services. The Q&A will raise hot topics such as artist payments and how the numbers will stack up into the future.
