Alberto Guijarro Rey
Co-director, Primavera Sound Festival, SPAIN

In 1990, at the age of 23, after studying chemical engineering, Alberto left laboratories for the music business. He went on to create Producciones Animadas, a music promotions company that introduced “club culture” to Spain. Since 1995 he’s managed one the most successful clubs in Spain, Sala Apolo. Apolo programs a wide range of styles from jazz to electronic music, from indie/rock to avant-garde sounds. In 2001 he created the Primavera Sound Festival which he co-directs. Primavera is one of Europe’s largest music festivals in the country, with over 280 bands across 10 stages and attendances of more than 100,000 people. Alberto also founded and is President of the Catalan Music Venue Association ASACC.
