Business Manager, Collarts
Byron is the Business Manager for Collarts (Australian College of the Arts) whilst continuing to manage a roster of successful artists. His background in the music industry is extensive, ranging from artist management, artist liason, music marketing and music journalism. His work in artist management has included managing a roster of bands who’ve performed at Splendor in the Grass, Field Day, Peats Ridge and Sydney Festival. He has signed artists to Atlantic Records, Future Classic, Universal, Neon Records, Mushroom Group, has worked as artist liaison for LCD Soundsytem, Cake, Portishead, TV on the Radio, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers and The Killers and has produced collaborations with Tïesto, Flume, Rüfüs and Baio (Vampire Weekend).
In addition to his work in artist management, Byron has previously lectured on the subject at the Australian Institute of Music. Byron also managed Australia’s most famous recording studio, REC studio in Sydney where artists of the likes of David Bowie, Duran Duran, Prince, Elton John, Bob Dylan recorded. His interest in music marketing and journalism led him to create and manage OneTrickPonyTV – a popular music website as part of the VICE blogging network which has been credited for helping to break artists such as Lorde and The Preatures.
