harvey sawardRemote Control Records, which Harvey established in 2001, is the Australian home for the Beggars Group of labels including XL Recordings, Young Turks, 4AD, Rough Trade and Matador. It has released Gold & Platinum selling albums by the White Stripes, Basement Jaxx, The National, The xx, Vampire Weekend, Radiohead, Queens Of The Stoneage and Adele. Remote Control has also become increasingly active with Australian music, setting up the Dot Dash label and also working with Courtney Barnett, Saskwatch, Chet Faker, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Banoffee, Client Liaison and many other local artists. Harvey grew up in rural Tasmania and developed a life-long love of music and music discovery after seeing Radio Birdman live on ABC TV in the late ‘70s.
