LISTEN

Katie Pearson, aka DJ Whiskey Houston, has a reputation for erupting parties into euphoric, sweaty messe: spinning her picks from the late ‘70s to early ‘90s; traversing genres from disco of all flavours – italo to boogie; house; club classics; new wave; and synth-pop to stoke up a late night on the tiles.

The Melbourne-based DJ has supported US acts Spinderella (Salt-N-Pepa), JD Samson (Le Tigre, MEN), Stacey “Hotwaxx” Hale, Justin Strauss, and played party-starting sets for The Village People at Golden Plains Festival, 2015. She’s made an indelible mark on Melbourne’s queer party scene by igniting and fostering communities through club nights Danceteria, Flawless, and co-run “gay-ass disco” The Outpost, running bi-monthly in Melbourne. By day, Whiskey advocates for better treatment and representation of marginalised people in the music industry through the grassroots movement LISTEN.
