Professor Katrina McFerran is Head of Music Therapy and Co-Director of the National Music Therapy Research Unit at the University of Melbourne. She has published 2 books and more than 50 articles on the topic of music and adolescents, largely based on her work and research over the past two decades with young people in schools, hospital and community contexts. Katrina’s passion is understanding the ways that young people use music to promote wellbeing and resilience, as well being mindful of when music is used to ruminate and intensify emotions.
