Kirsty Rivers is the Manager for Contemporary Music at Creative Victoria where she manages the Music Works strategy and policy around the development of the contemporary music sector. Music Works is a $22.2 million election promise from the Victorian Government to invest into and stimulate the Victorian contemporary music sector. Initiatives include multiple grants statewide programs for artists, industry and venues, the development of a Victorian Music Development Office and a music hub – The Music Market. Prior to this role, Kirsty spent many years working in the music industry including 17 years as Writer Services National Manager at APRA AMCOS, sales at Shock Records and various roles in the recording and music retail industry. She has been actively involved in the Victorian music community including 15 years as Vice Chair of The Push, the founding Vice Chair of Music Victoria and a variety of not-for-profit boards including PBS FM.
