Musician and Curator
Sophia Brous is a celebrated multi-disciplinary vocalist, composer and performer, Festival curator and arts adviser. At 22 she became the Program Director of the Melbourne International Jazz Festival, she was Curator of Music of the Adelaide Festival of the Arts, Board Director of Music Victoria and a radio broadcaster for Triple R FM and London’s NTS radio. In 2015, she will be creating a major new international arts Festival project.
Recent musical projects include the world premiere ‘David Lynch Revisited’ at The Barbican London, Frank Zappa’s 1971 opera ‘200 Motels’, Southbank Centre London and commissions for UrbanTheatre Company/Sydney Festival and Dark MOFO. Brous collaborates with artists including Mick Harvey, Julia Holter, Belle and Sebastian, Kimbra, Paul Kelly, the BBC Concert Orchestra, Kirin J Callinan and Paul Grabowsky, and leads her own filmic pop project Brous.
