Tim joined Collarts at the beginning of 2013 from the United Kingdom where he has 30 years’ experience in the music industry and in higher education. Tim previously worked as Senior Lecturer in Popular Music Studies at John Moores University (Liverpool). Prior to that Tim taught audio technology at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, established by Sir Paul McCartney.
Tim’s industry experience is exceptional – having worked in a number of roles including tour manager with the likes of Atomic Kitten, Elvis Costello and Simple Minds. As a record producer and audio engineer Tim has worked with Transvision Vamp, Public Enemy, The Beastie Boys, Run DMC and Faith No More.
Tim also completed a five-year period working in Nashville where his clients included Immortal Records and Sony Records.
