Musician, Faux Pas & gotye / Presenter, 3RRR
Tim Shiel is a composer and electronic music producer known to some for his many albums, EPs and remixes released under the name Faux Pas. Most recently, Tim has found himself touring the world as a multi-instrumentalist in Gotye’s live band, overseeing the design of Gotye’s technology-intensive live show and performing over 100 shows across North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. Tim’s passion for new music led to his involvement at Melbourne’s 3RRR FM, where he has been a broadcaster for over five years. He has also appeared as a guest host of triple j’s The Sound Lab, is a former judge of the Australian Music Prize, and has spoken at many events including Sound Summit and the Melbourne International Film Festival. Tim was also long-listed in 2013 for APRA’s Professional Development Award for songwriters. He is currently developing new projects, from his recently rebuilt home studio in northern Melbourne.
