Producer / Musician / Artist Manager, Homesurgery
Tom Larkin originally from New Zealand, is a producer, drummer and songwriter. He resides in Australia and is the founding member of NZ band Shihad. He also currently owns and runs Melbourne recording studio ‘The Studios in The City’, and runs music management and artist development company Homesurgery.
Shihad have released four #1 studio albums and three top 10 singles in their home country of NZ. They have had the most Top 40 charting singles (26) and hold the outright title for the most chart hits by a Kiwi band and are the very first NZ act to debut four albums at #1, achieving two Double Platinum, two Platinum and three Gold certifications for their seven albums over a 22 year career. In Australia, the band have had three Top 10 studio albums and picked up two Gold certifications for ‘The General Electric’ and ‘Pacifier’. Shihad have toured extensively internationally and have opened for some of the biggest names in rock including AC/DC, Metallica, Faith No More, Tool, Black Sabbath, Guns ‘n’ Roses and Korn.
Tom has produced and recorded bands such as Shihad, Bodyjar, The Butterfly Effect, Calling All Cars, Strangers, Hi Tension, Young and Restless, The Getaway Plan, Young Heretics, The Sinking Teeth, Closure in Moscow, King Cannons amongst many others as well as session drums for various artists including Killing Joke. He has also worked with several top international producers and mixers such as Gggarth Richardson (Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Rage Against the Machine) Alan Moulder (Nine inch Nails, Killers) and Josh Abraham (Velvet Revolver, Korn). Through his Melbourne based artist management company Homesurgery he looks after – The Butterfly Effect, Calling All Cars, Cairo Knife Fight, Strangers and The Sinking Teeth. He also likes strong coffee, Burmese cats and making up silly songs with his daughters Sam and Tui.
